High-Frequency Sight Words Homework Book 1 and 2
Overview
Description
220 high-frequency sight words are organised into 2 homework books to take home and practise reading for homework. To be fluent in reading these sight words, the children should be able to read each list of 10 words in under ten seconds. When the booklet has been made up, there is a table on the left-hand page to record their progress towards their goal of ten seconds. As they make progress towards their goal, their parent may time them and record this on the table. When they have achieved their goal, they bring their booklet back to class to be tested. If they achieve their goal, they get a sticker or stamp on the front cover of the booklet next to the appropriate list number.
The teacher may then record, on the editable record sheet included in the package, the lists the children have completed.
This package includes the first 220 sight words a child needs to be familiar with to help them build their reading fluency.
Each of the two books is available in Victorian Modern Cursive, NSW Foundation and Queensland Beginners.
