Description

This is the ultimate activity for developing phonemic awareness. I usually blend simple words with magnetic letters on a white board but this is the downloadable alternative that I hope you find useful. There are 110 pictures with boxes for letters and dots for sounds with 96 letter tiles.

The Word List included is important as it is the key to the pictures and words. The DONKEY card game is lots of fun but it has a serious side targeting rhyme. My Triple P Screener lists the Phonic, Phonological and Phonemic skills for literacy. You may find it helpful if some of your students are not progressing as fast as others.

Short a (30 words): brag, brat, chap, clam, clap, crab, cram, drag, flag, flap, flap2, flat, glad, crab, gram, gran, plan, scam, scan, cham, clam, clap, snag, snap, span, stab, stag, swag, tram, trap

Short e (16 words): bled, bred, chef, clef, fled, flex, fret, glen, shed, sled, sped, stem, step, them, then, trek
