Guided Character Writing Activity- Character Descriptions
Overview
Description
Creative writing can be challenging for students. Idea generation is one of the most challenging skills. This resource provides a guided scaffold and framework to help students achieve their best writing.
There's two different formats for each writing prompt. The first format includes a word bank associated with the picture prompt. Students use the ideas in the word bank to write a character description.
The second format includes a word ban with some ideas on the picture prompt as well as an option for students to write some of their own ideas. From this, students can then write a character description.
Included in this resource is also the Powerpoint version of the resource. This allows the teacher to project this onto the whiteboard and model/guide students through the resource. Teachers can also edit the Powerpoint as needed.
This easy, no prep resource includes 14 different picture prompts, which allows students to practice and consolidate their writing skills.
Perfect for whole class lessons, small group work, intervention lesson, EAL/D students, morning work, and literacy centres. This resource is versatile and can be used in many ways.
