SUFFIX Game - SPOONS - 5 Games/45 Cards & 9 Suffixes per Game (5 Card Sets) - Cards Not Illustrated
Overview
Description
This game (for 2 to 6 players) is lots of fun and brings high levels of engagement to learning suffixes. The target skill is reading with the focus on the word endings. This will enhance deconstruction as a reading strategy and should reduce guessing the word based on looking at the first letter or syllable. Meanings are included to enhance comprehension.
There are five games with 45 cards in each game. Each player is dealt five cards. They need the base card with the suffix and the four word cards that match to win. You can mix up the sets if you wish but ensure players know they are looking for the word examples on the base card only. It is an all-ability game because you can use it prior to playing as a matching activity.
There is a short version of the game that will take about 15 minutes. If you have more time the directions for the longer game are included.
