Description

Are your students constantly coming to you with 'problems' that don't quite match their over-the-top reactions? Whether it's an empty drink bottle, a broken pencil or an untied shoelace, young children often have trouble discerning the difference between 'big problems' and 'small problems'. Use this fantastic small-group or independent sorting activity to springboard conversations about what problems warrant a big or small reaction, using examples such as 'You came last in a game' and 'Fire in the school'.

Included in this resource are 12 cut-and-paste examples of big and small problems and 2 landscape sorting sheets, featuring characters Pevan & Sarah. Perfect for a Social/Emotional lesson or a lesson on 'Catastrophe Scales' and - bonus - great for fine motor skills as kids are cutting, pasting and colouring in to decorate their work.

This resource pairs perfectly with Pevan & Sarah's new music video, 'What Size is Your Problem?' (see Video Preview!). Sign up to Cub Club to access the video, along with this printable resource and many others.
