My ‘First Day of School Crowns/ Hats’ are a fun, hands on way to begin the school year. At the completion of their first day, students will be able to take home their crowns/ hats to celebrate the special 'starting school' milestone.

To make:

Students cut around the dotted lines and decorate their crown/ hat. This activity allows you to observe fine motor skills- cutting and colouring.

It also allows students to take it home as a keepsake from their first day at school to share with their families.

Printing Tips:

Print onto A4 coloured card or white card (if you wish for your students to colour them in). You will also need some strips to staple on to ensure the crown/ hat fits around each head. I cut an A4 piece into 3 or 4 strips to attach to the templates to ensure they fit around each head.
