Add the fun to beginning fractions with GO FISH. It is a matching game with illustrated cards to bridge the gap after using hands-on materials for concept development. There are 34 cards or 17 matching pairs.

I have included a whole unsliced pizza as well as cuts showing 2/2, 4/4 and 8/8. You can leave these pairs out if you just want to focus on fraction pieces to start. I also have 2/4 shown as two separate pieces on the plate, not joined, and the same with 4/8. They are still fractions of the pizza, but some students do not develop this concept without explicit examples. I do find they are a good pictorial reference at some point when the language of fractions is developing as a mathematical construct.
