My ‘Halloween Themed Number Talks for the Early Years’ resource:

- Provides 18 Halloween Themed Number Talks.

- Incorporates open ended, engaging mathematical problems to explore.

- Incorporates all strands of the Maths curriculum.

- Is accessible to ALL students.

- Can be used as ongoing assessment.

BUT... what I love the most about this resource is that it allows students of ALL abilities to contribute and extend their thinking.

This resource comes in a printable and digital option too, allowing you to decide whether you wish to bind it- like me (as a way to keep track of student responses) or project it onto the Interactive Whiteboard or Smart TV.

It comes with Number Talk Information on how to administer a Number Talk in your Early Years classroom, clear examples with an example script, teacher questions for each of the 18 picture prompts and accompanying posters showing Number Talk rules and expectations- including hand gestures, accountable talk stems and thinking time rules, to help set you up for success!

Some additional information about Number Talks, showing the benefits in the classroom:

- Number Talks should take 5-15 minutes and be done at least once a week.

- They aim to extend and challenge students.

- They expose students to different strategies and ways of solving a problem.

- Number Talks have more than one answer.

- They encourage flexible thinking.
