Support your students' handwriting development with these Black & White Letter Handwriting Practice Booklets, designed to provide structured, consistent practice as students learn and develop confidence with each letter.

The letter sequence has been carefully organised to follow the introduction of sounds in InitiaLit, making these booklets easy to use alongside phonics instruction. Students can practise letter formation as each new sound and letter is introduced, helping to reinforce learning through regular handwriting practice.

Each letter is presented across two pages and includes:

• 2 lines of lowercase letter formation practice
• 2 lines of capital letter formation practice
• 8 words beginning with the focus letter
• 1 sentence for each focus letter
• Clear and consistent letter-formation practice

The words and sentences provide opportunities for students to move beyond isolated letter formation and begin connecting letters with meaningful reading and writing.

A printer-friendly booklet with black dots indicating where to begin each letter, providing additional support as students learn correct letter formation.

Black & White – without beginning dots

A printer-friendly booklet without beginning dots, allowing students to practise their letter formation with greater independence.

Created using the TAS Print font, commonly used in Tasmanian schools, these booklets provide a consistent and economical format for handwriting instruction and practice.
