Description

Latin and Greek roots are not everyone's cup of tea. Some students 'switch off' for any number of reasons. This won't be the case with DONKEY - the game that all kids love. It's my most popular game and it appeals to teenagers as much as five year olds. It will provide the level of high engagement you want for all levels of ability. The players have to match pairs and the pairs are the Latin or Greek roots on the card. The word example is derived from this origin and its value is in vocabulary development and comprehension. Make sure the players say the words on the cards as they present their pairs.

You can choose the roots you want to use. The sets can be mixed and there is a discreet labelling system that will facilitate reconstituting the sets if you need to. Leaving out pairs does not affect the game. There are 22 pairs in each game, and that suits up to four players, but you can increase the number of pairs and the number of players if you wish.

I see students when they are way behind and I know this game has potential for them to re-engage with morphology. Try it - you won't be disappointed.
