Little Red Hen Puppets

This product includes 25 colour and 25 black and white puppet templates of the characters from the Fairy Tale “Little Red Hen”.

The characters included are;

•Little Red Hen (8 different versions – 8 in colour and 8 B/W).

•Cat (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Dog (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Duck (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Goose (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Pig (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Mouse (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Farmhouse (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Mill (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Seeds (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Wheat (2 different versions - 2 in colour and 2 B/W).

•Flour (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Bread – Unbaked (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Bread - Baked (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

•Bread – Loaf and Slice (2 in colour and 2 B/W).

•Stove (1 in colour and 1 B/W).

How to Make and Play

To construct the stick puppets in colour, print out the colour puppet templates onto white cardstock.

Cut out each puppet template around the dotted outline and laminate for durability.

Stick the puppet template to a popsicle or paddle pop stick using tape or glue.

Another suggested use for this resource is for students to colour in the black and white puppet template, cut out along the dotted outline and stick to a popsicle/ paddle pop stick using glue or sticky tape.

Once the puppets have been constructed, students can use the stick puppets to retell, or dramatise the fairy tale “ Little Red Hen”.
