My Maths Review- Set 4 PowerPoint slides were designed for schools that use the Direct Explicit Instruction (EDI) model, however they would be suitable for any Early Years classroom looking for a highly engaging Maths review/ consolidation PowerPoint for a daily or weekly warmup. The slides are designed to be used for daily or weekly review. A review should take approximately 10 minutes going at a fluent speed. My ‘Maths Review Set 4’ allows students to recite information by repeating information either with the teacher or as an echo. This aids student learning and gives the teacher an opportunity to correct and repeat. Students are able to recall and answer questions or fill in gaps about maths topics/ areas that have been previously covered. It allows students to continually work on each skill daily or weekly, rather being expected to remember it without being exposed to it for some time. This is done to a level of automaticity, quickly being able to use this knowledge without pausing to recall it. It allows students to apply and demonstrate understanding by applying their knowledge independently. This is where you want to promote higher-order thinking processes so that the learning is embedded and remembered for longer. There are over 500 bright, engaging, animated slides included! It has hyperlinks taking you straight to the slides you wish to review too- so if you click 'Place Value', it takes you straight to the matching slides, rather than scrolling 500+ slides to find what you are after. This is Set Four and it focuses on the following, with clear 'I can' statements included for each section. Recognising numbers to 100. Counting on and back from non zero starting points. Counting collections with one to one correspondence. More/ less using symbols <, >, = as well as the language of greater than, less than. Addition- friends of 10, number bonds, mental maths, tens frames, real life scenarios to draw. Subtraction with pictures, on a number line, real life scen… [truncated]
