This bundle includes the following: Mini Posters: There are 20 pages that align to chapters with four mini posters to an A4 page. Each poster has a discreet label for organisational purposes. The target word is obvious, followed by the part of speech category it belongs to in the context of the story. I have added an explanation for adjectives and adverbs because I have found my students get confused by these terms more than any other. The definition has been refined to reflect the meaning intended by the author (my interpretation), and the extract from the story will contribute to comprehension and retention to extend vocabulary. I use them for explicit teaching. You could use them as a stimulus for creative writing with a whole class. Spoons Card Game: Be prepared for high levels of engagement when you introduce this game for up to six players, or more if you combine sets. You will extend vocabulary and develop deconstruction of three syllable words. It targets phonemic skills in blending and sequencing for those students who need this level of skill development but it will also contribute to vocabulary building and fluency rates for all abilities. There is one game for each chapter. There is a more comprehensive product with 50 games targeting a wider range of three syllable words for those situations where more intensive teaching is required. Word Wizard Board and Card Game: This game targets grammar, spelling, comprehension and vocabulary development and it does it while having lots of fun. There is no better way to learn, and it is certainly more engaging than a worksheet. I use the Mini Posters as introduction to new vocabulary and Stack 4 as a quick review and/or homework. This game is complementary but has more breadth and depth. It targets syllabication which is a vital skill, especially for those students with dyslexic characteristics.
