Description
In this jungle themed game, children develop their number fact fluency to ten! Differentiate for your learners by choosing to play with dot patterns or numerals.
To prepare this resource simply print, laminate and cut the number cards. To play, children lay some of the cards in a grid and take turns to flip over two cards - searching for a pair that equal 10. When a pair is found, the player keeps it and replaces the cards from the pile. The player with the most pairs at the end of the game is the winner!
When children are fluent in their recall of number facts they are more easily able to solve problems and learn new math concepts. Simple games allow them to develop their fact fluency in a hands on, engaging way. Depending on the needs of your learners you may choose to play with dot pattern or numeral cards or even split the deck up and play 'Flip for 5'. Dot patterns allow children to count and determine a total, while numerals require some number fact knowledge.
'Jungle Friends Make 10' is perfect as a small group task or 'Fast Finisher' activity!
