## Good to Know for ACT Teachers

**New and continuing students start on different days.** New students start on Monday 1 February. That includes every student in their first year of school (even if they went to the preschool attached to the school), all Year 7 and Year 11 students, and anyone starting at the school for the first time. Everyone else starts on Tuesday 2 February.

**Holiday dates are the days between terms.** The ACT Government publishes the student start date and term end date for each term. The holiday dates on this page are the days in between.

**Term 2 starts on a Wednesday.** Anzac Day is Sunday 25 April and Monday 26 April is the public holiday. Term 2 starts on **Wednesday 28 April**.

**Public holidays in term.** Canberra Day (Monday 8 March), Good Friday and Easter Monday are in Term 1. Reconciliation Day (Monday 31 May) and King's Birthday (Monday 14 June) are in Term 2. Labour Day, Monday 4 October, is in the spring holidays.
