## Good to Know for Queensland Teachers

**Term 1 is 9 weeks and Term 2 is 11.** Those are the department's own figures. Term 1 ends on Thursday 25 March, the day before Good Friday, so Easter is in the autumn holidays.

**Staff professional development days.** Three before Term 1 (Thursday 21, Friday 22 and Monday 25 January, with the Australia Day holiday on Tuesday 26 January), two at the end of the autumn holidays (Thursday 8 and Friday 9 April) and one in Term 3 (Friday 3 September). Students do not attend.

**Public holidays in Term 2 and Term 3.** Anzac Day falls on a Sunday, so Monday 26 April is the holiday. Labour Day is Monday 3 May. The Royal Queensland Show holiday on Wednesday 11 August applies in the Brisbane area only; other areas have their own show holidays.

**King's Birthday is in the holidays.** Monday 4 October is the last day of the spring holidays, and Term 4 starts on Tuesday 5 October.
