## Good to Know for WA Teachers

**Term 2 starts on a public holiday.** Anzac Day is Sunday 25 April, and Monday 26 April, the first day of Term 2, is a [public holiday in WA](https://www.wa.gov.au/service/employment/workplace-arrangements/public-holidays-western-australia). That means students go back on **Tuesday 27 April**.

**Easter is in Term 1.** Good Friday (26 March) and Easter Monday (29 March) fall two weeks before the end of term, and Labour Day is Monday 1 March.

**King's Birthday is in the holidays.** In WA it is Monday 27 September, during the spring holidays. Western Australia Day, Monday 7 June, is in Term 2.

**Development days are set by schools.** The department's term dates page asks families to check their school's schedule for planned development days, so ask your school for its dates.
