Handwriting Workout Worksheets
Overview
Description
These handwriting worksheets give children the opportunity to practise fine motor skills and correct formation of letters in all Australian state prints. Designed for children in the early stages of handwriting development, these 'Letter Workouts' include line tracing and letter tracing in three exercises.
During the 'Warm Up', children trace simple lines, allowing teachers time to check that correct pencil grip and left to right directionality are being used. The 'Work Out' provides children multiple opportunities to trace the focus letter, initially using numbered dots to ensure correct letter formation. Simple phonics skills are also included as children trace the focus letter at the beginning of words. As the 'Cool Down' picture tracing task is being completed, teachers have the opportunity to roam the room and check student work - everyone is occupied with a simple, independent activity!
