Beginning Sound Clip Cards
Overview
Description
In this activity, children clip pictures to match beginnning sounds. Each card features a letter and four pictures. Children determine what sound the letter makes and clip the two pictures beginning with the same sound.
These cards are perfect to use as a literacy small group task or 'Fast Finisher' activity. They can also be used as a quick assessment tool to determine letter-sound knowledge. Provide clothes pegs or paperclips for children to use to clip each card.
To prepare this resource, simply print and laminate the cards. This activity can be made self-correcting by placing a dot or sticker behind each correct picture. Children make their choice and flip the card to see if it matches! This pack includes 26 cards.
