Overview
Description
In this activity, children break words into syllables and clip the correct number on each card. Each card features a picture, word and numbers between 1-5.
These cards are perfect to use as a literacy small group task or 'Fast Finisher' activity. They can also be used as a quick assessment tool or as one-on-one intervention work for children who need more practise breaking words into syllables. Provide clothes pegs or paperclips for children to use to clip each card.
To prepare this resource, simply print and laminate the cards. This activity can be made self-correcting by placing a dot or sticker behind each correct picture. Children make their choice and flip the card to see if it matches! This pack includes 40 cards including words with 1-5 syllables.
