RHYME WITH THE MOUSE ON THE HOUSE PRINTABLE GAME (EARLY YEARS)

Description
Rhyme is an important skill for your students to work on regularly. My 'Rhyme with the Mouse on the House' Printable Game can be played in a number of ways, making this resource a fabulous addition to your classroom games library.
It includes (Well it will, so far it only includes Level 1) various levels of differentiated pictures for your students to say and find the rhyming pairs to help the mouse.
1. Print the pages of this resource in colour on A4.
2. Laminate and cut this resource for longevity.
3. Play the game!
This game can be played individually, with a partner or in a small group.
It is a Phonemic Awareness activity and Level 1 only includes pictures. If you are unsure about what image is displayed on the playing cards, there is an answer sheet provided on the next page.
Simply find the 3 pictures that rhyme with the picture that the mouse is holding. Place the pictures into the squares on the house- the windows. There are 3 rhyming pictures included for each word. Once the house is complete, say the rhyming words in the house. You could challenge your students to come up with other real words or even nonsense words that rhyme with the 4 pictures displayed.
Other ways you can use these cards in the classroom:
- Finding a partner with a matching card or making a small group for other activities.
- Turning over a card, writing it down and then recording some other rhyming words.
Level 1 is all CVC words with short vowels. There are 24 houses included- each with 3 rhyming pictures to place into the house.
