Description

My ‘Letters, Words and Sentences’ Review PowerPoint was designed to help you review and work on identifying the differences between the three with your Early Years students. The PowerPoint was primarily designed to be used with Prep/ Kindy/ Reception/ Foundation students in Term 1 and 2 of commencing school. It is a review, meaning that this learning should have already been explicitly taught by the classroom teacher, and this would complement existing knowledge. It could also be used in Year/ Grade 1 as it really goes back over the foundation early literacy skills, particularly with those learners that need regular repetition and exposures before mastering a skill.

This PowerPoint comes in all Australian state fonts. When you download this zipped folder, simply unzip it by right clicking and compressing and select the Australian font you wish to use.

The PowerPoint can be used in a variety of ways. It was made to use as a whole class review but it would also be beneficial to use in small group or one on one intervention or tutoring groups.

Most of the slides are animated and require a click of the mouse. It is always recommended that teachers go over this PowerPoint before using it with their students so that they know exactly how the slides work, making the review lesson as effective and beneficial as it possibly can be.

There are 6 activities included in this PowerPoint that range in difficulty. The contents page has hyperlinks taking you straight to the slides you wish to review. This PowerPoint has NOT been designed for your students to sit in front of for a long period of time but rather a short burst of time where you really focus on an area that you feel that they need to review and consolidate.

The words that students will be blending throughout this review PowerPoint are mostly decodable and feature the sounds in Set 1 of the blending pack- satpinmdgock. They feature decodable words and irregular words. The words are editable, so for differentiation you could edit the words to suit your students as the text is all editable.

This Letters, Words and Sentences PowerPoint is available alone and is also included my Literacy Review Bundle Set 1, designed to be used in Term 1 and 2 of the school year. The bundle will save you some money and it includes 8 PowerPoints covering key early learning skills.
