Description

You are looking for more engaging ways to teach figurative language, specifically idioms to your class. Your students have grasped the basic ideas but need opportunities for repetition when it comes to identifying idioms. Sounds familiar? Identifying Idioms Google Slides is a fun way for your students to consolidate their knowledge of figurative language and identify the real meaning of idioms.

This Google Slides resource includes 17 interactive question slides which give immediate feedback to your students making them a perfect activity for independent learning or group rotations. If your students click on the correct example they are directed to the next slide. If your student makes an error they are redirected back to try the question again. This engaging and immediate feedback makes this google slide resource perfect for whole class mini lessons on an interactive whiteboard as well as individual or literacy group work. The game needs to be played in presentation mode. Students simply look at and read the idiom and click the correct meaning.

No extra formatting required - simply assign the tasks to your students. No Prep, printing or pencils required. Ideal for casual/relief teachers to have as a resource on hand when travelling from school to school.

Identifying Idioms Google Slides is a great addition to fast finisher activities, class warm up, literacy rotations or can even be assigned for homework.

This is an engaging, interactive, paper free - no print resource aligned to the curriculum standards. To get a better look at this resource please check out the preview.
