How do my students use this resource?
Clear simple instructions are provided on the first slide where students read that they must use their knowledge of figurative language devices to select the correct Taylor Swift guitar. The google slides also revise the definition of each figurative language device. Your students will read the snippets of song lyrics. Next your students will identify the figurative language device used by Taylor Swift and click on the correct guitar. If correct students progress through the resource to the next slide. If incorrect the game has students have another try at answering the question. Students will land on a page that will show them whether their answer was correct or incorrect. Feedback pages are animated with Taylor Swift gifs to further motivate students to continue with the task. Students love to see Taylor's reactions to their responses.
This Google Slides resource should be viewed in Slideshow mode. Slideshow mode allows students to get instant feedback when they click on their answers which means students can work independently without interrupting you. Immediate feedback also removes the need for you to mark student answers.
