An engaging explicit phonics lesson to introduce the igh digraph with multiple chances to apply and practice reading and writing the new skill with interactive digraph activities. More than 65 animated PowerPoint slides (some with sound effects) are included with the following reading and writing activities:
-igh poster with pictures
-Example words with pictures - decodable (high, light, night, thigh, right, fight )
-Click on the correct sound picture
-Which sound is it - click on the correct trigraph
-Read and circle the igh trigraph in the words
-17 slides with decodable or words to read
-5 slides with decodable sentences to read
- Find the igh trigraph slide
- Animated correct formation slide with fingers tracing the igh trigraph
- 6 Picture prompts to write words on whiteboards or paper
- 2 dictation sentences with picture prompts to write on whiteboards or in writing books
- Swat the ng words or read and draw picture slide
- I spy the 'ng' picture slide (6 pictures hiding) - can also be printed and used in literacy activities with counters to cover
