HOW TO USE
There are so many ways that number lines can be helpful in the classroom for hands-on learning. These rainbow number lines are perfect for laminating and reusing over and over again, and the black-and-white number lines can be adapted to create worksheets for your students for a range of uses!
⭐️ Number Recognition & Counting: reinforce sequential order of numbers by counting forwards and backwards up and down the number line. Students can use the un-numbered lines to practice counting past 20 and even into the hundreds.
⭐️ Comparing Number Relationships: compare larger and smaller numbers easily with the use of a number line. Show relative distance between numbers by asking students to plot where 25 would fall between 0 and 100, for example.
⭐️ Number Patterns: use numbered and un-numbered lines to examine and practice skip counting by 2s, 5s, 10s, 3s and more.
⭐️ Addition & Subtraction: show addition by moving right along the number line and subtraction by moving left. The blank number line is perfect for helping students add and subtract two-digit and three-digit numbers, as they can help to visualise various addition and subtraction strategies.
⭐️ Multiplication & Division: show multiplication as repeated addition and division as repeated subtraction using number lines.
⭐️ Fractions, Decimals, Negative Numbers, Algebraic Equations & more! The options are endless!
This resource pairs perfectly with a number of Pevan & Sarah's educational videos, such as Counting Forwards and Backwards, Skip Counting and Addition & Subtraction stories.
