Oral Reading Fluency Graph - Explicit Record of Individual Progress
Overview
Description
You can use this graph to track oral reading fluency rates for individual students. It has separate columns for cold and hot reads so you can discriminate and track progress. A hot read (4th reading) can be compared to a cold read on the same text, for instance, or you can compare two different hot or cold reads over time.
Just time the number of words the student reads in one minute and subtract errors to give you the score. I developed and modified this tracker over many years. It is based on the work of Hasbrouck and Tindal (2006 & 2017). Its best feature is the motivation it provides for individual students to monitor their own progress.
It's a freebie so you can do what you do even better.
