Unit Plan: Characterisation in a Multiversion Narrative - Wonder Stage 3
Overview
Description
This unit focuses on characterisation in imaginative multimodal texts. It specifically explores how different forms of text and media use characterisation to enhance students understanding of the characters and the different genres in which they are represented. Characterisation is a process through which the author reveals the personality and overall character of one or multiple characters. In addition, students read, view, and respond to a variety of print and digital texts that build their understanding of critical comprehension and composition as they investigate how text structures and language features work together to communicate whole ideas. Students will experiment with a range of digital, viewing, and reading techniques, as well as identifying features of texts that convey information exploring social and ethical dilemmas within the text and discussing aspects of experience that are common.
