Description

Isn't the English language interesting? Maybe not when the letters 'ci' are pronounced with the "sh" sound. This game will take the frustration out of the mix, especially for those students who need the repetition of a game to master the skill. The target skills are decoding, fluency and spelling.

You need two players and a six-sided die. You could play with the whole class if you had enough dice. Each player has a pencil. They throw the die and pick a word in that column that they read. When read correctly, they claim that space. The game will never be the same twice because the die adds to the fun and makes it unpredictable. I call it a worksheet/game because you can use it as a worksheet, or place it in a centre, laminated.

The 50 words I have included are:

precious, delicious, racial, musician, sufficient, magician, crucial, physician, sufficiency, specialist, suspicion, malicious, sociable, atrocious, ferocious, spacious, optician, gracious, official, commercial, efficient, semiprecious, politician, deficient, technician, luscious, superficial, financial, beneficiary, inefficient, beautician, conscious, unconscious, electrician, artificial, unsociable, special, tactician, social, suspicious, facial, conscientious, specialist, semiconscious, mortician, conscience, beneficial, antisocial, vicious, ancient

I have added Flash Cards for flexibility.
