CCVCC Activity - I HAVE WHO HAS - 36 Cards Designed for DIFFERENTIATION
Overview
Description
This activity will engage students to focus on the CCVCC letter pattern, using all short vowel sounds. The words are illustrated to cater for a wide range of ability and can be used for intervention first. There are 36 cards so some students can have two cards.
The words used are:
stump, grand, spend, skill, blank, dress, twist, cloth, trust, thank, swell, thing, broth, clump, stand, blend, think, blond, chunk, stamp, chest, stink, prong, stung, smash, press, drink, gloss, grump, plant, swept, stiff, flock, grunt, crash, spell, stump (circular)
The design is circular, so you can start at any point. You could have students sitting in a circle or at their desks. As they say their word they stand and when it comes around again, they sit. Students with extra cards will stand and sit twice.
Fluency will benefit if you time the two rounds and try to beat the previous time.
