How do my students use this resource?
Cupid's Lost Bow Escape Room works with students being introduced to the scenario by being shown the unique video or being read the scenario. Cupid's bow has gone missing and he needs the help of your class to find his bow and save Valentine's Day. Each of the four tasks focuses on Parts of Speech. Your students should have prior knowledge of nouns, parts of speech and synonyms to successfully complete the Escape Room.
Clear instructions are provided for teachers to run the Escape Room in their classroom, even if they have never used an Escape Room before. In small groups, with a partner or even individually, students work to complete 4 individual tasks. The tasks focus on identifying nouns, identifying all Parts of Speech, decoding a mystery puzzle and matching synonyms. With each task completed students will identify a code. After each task this code must be checked. This can be done manually by the classroom teacher, or self-marked using Code envelopes. Alternatively if you have access to technology in your classroom a QR code and Google Form have been created. Students enter the code into the Google Form. If correct students progress to the next task until all four tasks are completed. This means no teacher marking!
