Description

Australian Coin and Notes - Money Multiples. This pack is aimed at Year 3. The tasks support exploring Australian Coins and Notes Money and asks students to show how we can have the same amount of money but it looks different.


Tasks include

  • ‘I Can’ charts and display them.
  • Money in the Piggy Banks Coins and Notes – How many ways can you show the amount given.
  • Thinkboards – what do you know about the coins and notes?
  • What Can I Buy? Use catalogues to show what items you can buy.
  • How any ways can I use notes and coins? – sequence in order of value, place money on top in different ways that equal that amount.
  • Dice – Templates for money dice.
  • Roll the dice and add in multiples.
  • Roll and equate – roll and write number sentences for money amounts.
  • Other denominations – template for a Venn Diagram task and to do coin rubbings/drawings of other currencies.
  • Money to use if you do not have access to play money - print and use to work through the tasks

This pack helps with

- representing money values in multiple ways
