Numbers 0 to 10 Scavenger Hunt | Foundation number recognition and movement activity

Some days, students need maths that lets them move.

This Numbers 0–10 scavenger hunt is a low prep, movement based maths activity for Foundation students. It is ideal for split classes, restless days or as an easy activity to leave for a relief teacher.

Choose between numeral, ten frame or number word cards to hide around your classroom or school. Students move around to find numbers 0 to 10 and record their answers on the included recording sheet.

Designed for repeated use

Print and laminate the cards and store them on a ring for easy access. Use them for daily fluency warm ups or additional 1:1 support. The same cards can then be used for the full scavenger hunt. Introduce numeral cards early in the year, move to ten frames as understanding develops and save number word cards for later in the year.
