'ar' Game - WORD DETECTIVE - 10 Boards and 60 Illustrated Cards designed for DIFFERENTIATION
Overview
Description
The phonic element 'ar' is quite common and games like this generate the fluency needed for reading success. You can play with all ten boards as a whole class with players responsible for a row or column, or in small groups (particularly for intervention matching cards to boards prior to playing).
The words I have used are:
bark, car, hard, sharp, tart, barn, far, part, yard, shark, arm, yarn, park, start, dart, art, mark, card, lark, arch, dark, spark, harp, jar, farm, alarm, bar, march, cart, spar, carve, star, chart, snarl, large, charm, scarf, marsh, scar, charge, darn, barb, army, kart, smart, party, garden, marble, barber, archer, heart, parcel, carpet, dollar, target, artist, collar, garlic, harvest, darling
You can leave out boards and the corresponding cards without it affecting the game. The boards and cards have a discreet labelling system for you to easily sort the boards and cards to use in smaller groups.
