Description

This bundle targets the beginning CCC letter patterns scr, shr, spl, spr, str and thr. The variety of games and activities in this product will provide intervention, consolidation and review for a wide range of abilities. All the cards have a discreet labelling system to facilitate ease of access and storage.

I HAVE WHO HAS - whole class focussing activity. There are 36 illustrated cards so some students will have two cards if the class is smaller. I have designed it as a circular activity so you can start at any card. You could start with students sitting down, then standing as they call their card. The activity can continue until the card is called again and all the students are sitting again. Students with more than one card will be standing and sitting twice. You can promote fluency by timing and having your class try to beat their best time.

Words Used:

scream, stretch, spring, strong, sprint, strap, thread, struck, scribe, splash, thrill, scrub, shrub, scribble, strict, script, throb, splat, throne, splint, scrap, three, strip, scrunch, split, street, shrunk, spray, strand, thrush, string, splits, shrug, shred, scram, strain

DONKEY Card Game - a game for 2 to 4 players - 26 cards with 13 rhyming pairs ideal for intervention and developing phonemic awareness. Pairs can be omitted without it affecting the game. This is the most popular game I use and suits all age groups.

Words Used:

sprain/strain, scroll/stroll, scrawl/sprawl, threw/screw, thrash/splash, sprint/splint, scrub/shrub, stream/scream, thread/spread, strap/scrap, stray/spray, three/spree

MEMORY Card Game - a game for 2 to 4 players - 42 cards with 21 pairs. One card in each pair is illustrated. This makes it an ideal game when you are transitioning students from relying on picture cues to decoding. Matching pairs is a great activity prior to learning to play. Like DONKEY, pairs can be left out and it doesn't affect the game.

Words Used:

spring, string, throne, scribe, screen, throb, sprint, strong, splat, scrub, shrug, splash, throat, spray, shrink, scrap, split, scrape, street, three, strike

GO FISH Card Game - a game for 2 to 4 players - 2 sets with 52 cards (26 pairs) in each set. One card in each set is illustrated.

Words Used:

SET 1: stripes, split, stretch, throb, spring, string, strip, strike, stream, strum, spray, scratch, strain, throw, splash, shrug, thrill, strap, stroke, stress, straw, thread, strong, stride, sprint, scrub

SET 2: sprinkles, sprinkler, sprout, scrawl, scroll, scribble, screw, scream, screen, throat, throne, sprain, scrape, struck, splat, shrine, splinter, splint, shrub, spread, shrink, street, three, splits, shrimp, shred

STACK 4 is a worksheet/game for two that suits players who like an element of strategy. It suits the older student in particular. You need a six-sided die for each pair and a pencil or object to claim spaces. There are 50 words that start with CCC and flashcards are included.

Words Used:

street, scream, splice, scratch, strap, splat, shrub, spread, thrill, thread, spring, shriek, stretch, stream, splash, struggle, splurge, string, strict, scramble, scribble, scrape, scrap, stripe, scram, split, scrub, throne, splendid, sprout, scrunch, strange, scribe, splits, sprat, shrug, strain, thrive, strong, shred, strive, strip, sprung, script, three, through, stride, shrine, shrunk, splint
