CCC​,​ Silent Letters​,​ Complex Vowels - 10 DONKEY Card Games

These games will contribute high levels of engagement to learning, providing consolidation and review opportunities in small groups. DONKEY is a favourite with my students. It lends itself to skill acquisition, especially when spelling is unusual and decoding can be affected. Seeing the words often leads to fluency. The rhyming component of these DONKEY games targets phonological awareness and recognition of the less common letter/sound patterns.

There are 10 games included:

CCC - 2 sets with beginning and terminal consonant blends

Silent Letters - 3 Sets

Sounds of OW - 1 set to learn to distinguish between the diphthong and long vowel sounds

Sounds of OO - 1 Set to learn to distinguish between the various sounds these letters make

Sounds of EA - 1 Set to learn to distinguish between the various sounds these letters make

Vowels modified by r - 2 Sets with one set exclusively targeting the "er" sound
