Christmas 2D Shape Gingerbread House Match Puzzle has 72 2D shape puzzles for students to complete. Your students simply look at the 2D shape of the gingerbread man and 2D shape of the gingerbread house and match them together. There are no words on the puzzle so perfect for preschool or Foundation students who are not yet reading or ESL students.

The 2D shapes included in this maths center activity are: Circle, Crescent, Decagon, Diamond, Heart, Heptagon, Hexagon, Nonagon, Octogon, Oval, Parallelogram, Pentagon, Rectangle, Semicircle, Square, Star, Trapezoid and Triangle.

What Prep is involved?

Once you have downloaded the file, print it out on paper. I like to laminate the cards so that they can be kept and used over and over again in my classrooms. Alternatively print the puzzle pieces onto cardstock for greater durability. There are four puzzles on each A4 page totalling 72 puzzle pairs. I like to store my cards in ice-cream containers or a zip lock bag for easy pack away at the end of the maths group rotations.

When will I use these cards in my classroom?

Christmas 2D Shape Match Gingerbread Puzzles can be used in maths groups, as a simple quick assessment tool, maths warm up for whole class lesson, as a geometry game or fast finisher activity, partner work, 1:1 math intervention or even for homework support.
