CVC This or That Worksheets Package - Beginning Sound Focus
Overview
Description
This worksheet package will help your students to discriminate differing beginning sounds in CVC words. The aim of this activity is to choose the correct word that matches the picture – the two word options only differ by one letter, therefore students need to use their decoding and phonemic awareness skills to choose the correct words. Once they have chosen the correct word, they circle it. Then, they write the correct word in the box provided.
The package contains 5 groups of worksheets, sorted by vowel sounds. There are 19 worksheets altogether. Two font versions have been provided - SA Beginners Font and a generic neat font. It is a perfect accompanying activity for the task card version of this activity, which you can find here!
