Decodable Would you rather...? Set 2 (Floss, Digraphs and Silent Final e)
Overview
Description
Are you looking for a fun, silly and engaging reading activity to get your students working on their decoding skills in the classroom? My 'Would you rather...?' worksheets and PowerPoints will be sure to get your students laughing and focused on their learning.
This is set 2 but set 1 is also available.
It comes in:
- Worksheet Form (The worksheet version can be sliced up and used in a more hands on way with pegs/ clips/ counters)
- PowerPoint form.
Set 2 consists of 180 would you rather questions.
The 3 reading levels/ skills that are included in Set 2:
- Floss (ss, ff, ll, zz)
- Digraphs (Please note that there are individual templates for the digraphs sh, th, ch, ng and ck and a combined section with all digraphs).
- Silent Final e/ Bossy e
Option 1:
Use them as a worksheet. Simply print and get your students to decode and pick which one they would rather. They could tick the side or colour the side that they would rather. Your students could also draw a picture to match (like a read and draw) in a workbook or on a mini whiteboard.
Option 2:
Cut them up and use them for centres/ groups. Cut up the strips so that they can be used for literacy groups/ intervention groups in a more hands on way. Students could flip a card and place a counter on the side that they would prefer, they could write out which one they would prefer on a mini whiteboard, they could peg the side.
Option 3:
The PowerPoint version. There are 8 PowerPoints included. Get your students decoding and moving around the classroom by selecting the side that they would pick! This activity is an effective warm up as an ‘I do’ and ‘We do’ before a ‘You do’ independent table activity.
The worksheets come in all State fonts. They can be cut up, laminated and used like this or they can be printed as worksheets.
You can use pegs, whiteboard markers or counters to record your responses to the questions.
