Overview
Description
Do your Kindergarten students need a new hands on, 2D Shape math activity for Earth Day this year? Earth Day Clip It Cards - 2D Shape Trees is a fun, worksheet free resource that makes demonstrating recognition and visual discrimination of regular 2D Shapes fun.
Skill: Identifying and matching 2D shapes
Theme: Earth Day
Your Kindergarten/ Foundation students will identify the 2D shape on the clip it card and put a clothespin, paperclip or counter on the matching 2D shape. Whiteboard markers can also be used if you choose to laminate the cards or use protective plastic sleeves. Manipulating items such as pegs will also help develop fine motor skills in your little learners.
HOW TO PREPARE CLIP CARDS
1.Print the clip cards on cardstock if possible. This is better for the environment and saves laminating.
2.Cut each clip card out (There are 4 different clip it cards per page)
3.If you are concerned about durability then laminate or use plastic sleeves. Each page has 4 options for each number creating 40 different clip it cards.
4.Now the cards are ready for use! Prep once then have a new math center activity or morning work task which is ready whenever you want to use with your students.
These cards also work well as an exit lesson resource.
