Halloween Metaphor Activity Halloween Figurative Language Google Slides for Years 5 and 6
Overview
Description
Are you looking for no-prep, interactive resource to support your student's identification of metaphors? Monster Metaphor Mansion is a Halloween figurative language resource created with 81 Google Slides™ and designed for Year 5 and Year 6 grade students who are learning about metaphors. Monster Metaphor Mansion google slides fit perfectly into your literacy lessons, figurative language review, grammar morning work, mini lesson introductions, whole class exit activity or review, individual work or even homework.
How do my students use this resource?
Clear simple instructions are provided on the first slide where students read that they must use their knowledge of metaphors to move through the mansion. Your students will read the sentence on the page. Your students must then identify whether the sentence does or does not contain a metaphor and click on the correct direction button. If correct students progress through the resource to the next slide. If incorrect the game has students have another try at answering the question. Students will land on a page that will show them whether their answer was correct or incorrect. Feedback pages are animated with sound effects to further motivate students to continue with the task. Students love watching the monsters dance.
This Google Slides resource should be viewed in Slideshow mode. Slideshow mode allows students to get instant feedback when they click on their answers which means students can work independently without interrupting you. Immediate feedback also removes the need for you to mark student answers.
