Description

HOP! Phonics Board Game is a great way for students to practice their knowledge of phonemes, high frequency words and decoding skills.

Students will need one die and a game piece e.g. a counter, block. To play the game each player starts at the designated starting point on the board. Students take turns rolling a die to move their game piece to the corresponding number of spaces. When a player lands on a space with a word, they must say the phoneme or read the word aloud to their partner. The game continues until one of the players reaches the finish space.

Game Adaptions/Differentiation: Students can

  • Record the phoneme/word on a white board
  • Verbally say a word that begins with that phoneme / put the word into a sentence
  • Write the word in a sentence and read it aloud to their partner.

Black & White version and colour version available. Simply print and go.
