JAMES and the GIANT PEACH Resource Bundle - Games & Mini Posters

This pack will add lots of fun and variety when you are teaching your literacy unit on James and the Giant Peach.

SPOONS - A card game for up to 6 players. There are 44 games with three syllable words organised by chapter. This version of SPOONS targets deconstruction and the ability to blend three syllables in the correct sequence. It has a word list in each game to provide support to those students who need this level of phonemic development but it will also contribute to spelling and vocabulary enrichment for all abilities.

MINI POSTERS - There are six mini posters for each chapter with some short chapters combined. The 36 posters feature the word, part of speech relevant to the context, definition and an extract from the text. The target skill is vocabulary development.

STACK 4 - This is a worksheet/game for two players with the target skill being decoding and word families. You need a six-sided die to play and a pencil for each player. You can use each sheet multiple times because the throw of the die means it is a different game each time it is played. It is suitable for a whole class or small group.

WORD WIZARD - This is a board and card game for up to five players (or more in groups). It targets grammar, parts of speech, compound words, spelling and comprehension.
