Love Jars- Let's celebrate the things we love- A back to school activity.
Overview
Year levels
Description
My 'Love Jars’ will help you to get to know your students at the beginning of the school year. It is a cut and paste activity, or for older students it could be used as a drawing activity where they draw the 10 things that they love inside their love jars.
This resource includes:
• A jar template with 10 boxes.
• 2x picture templates with 35 images on each to select- 70 images in total.
• A poem template to print and display with the jars.
The jars include 10 boxes (10 images need to get stuck inside in the boxes on the love jar provided). There are 70 images included on the ‘The things I love’ page. Students cut out the 10 things that they love the most and stick them into their love jar.
There are 2 variations included:
• Templates in colour AND
• Templates in black and white.
At the completion of this activity, I conduct a circle time allowing students to share their jars and 3 things that are inside their love jars with the whole class.
Printing Tips: I print the poem A3 and the love jars and pictures A4.
These make for a great display and demonstrate that everyone is different and that it is ok to like different things.
