Magic e Game - WORD DETECTIVE - 10 Boards/60 Illustrated Cards - DESIGNED for DIFFERENTIATION
Overview
Description
There are lots of words that fit the "Magic e" letter pattern. I teach it as the Magic e makes the vowel in front of it say its own name. Some students find the transition from short vowel sounds to the long sounds difficult but games help to provide the repetition and fun that makes learning easier. Regardless of ability, all students improve individual fluency levels the more they play games like this one. It has the added bonus of illustrated cards making it ideal for intervention prior to playing.
The words I have used are:
Board 1: ride, rope, hide, cube, gate, skate
Board 2: wide, choke, bike, mute, tape, mate
Board 3: tube, bite, bale, pipe, hose, smoke
Board 4: tune, cone, line, cane, page, cage
Board 5: maze, pile, time, note, prune, rake
Board 6: dune, dome, dice, stage, joke, kite
Board 7: poke, drive, rose, lace, huge, cape
Board 8: nine, prize, home, mane, flute, date
Board 9: shake, race, mice, vote, cute, wake
Board 10: shape, face, fuse, trike, code, five
