My Maths Review- Set 1 PowerPoint slides are designed for schools that use the Direct Explicit Instruction (EDI) model, however they are suitable for any Early Years classroom. The slides are designed to be used for daily or weekly review. A review should take approximately 15- 20 minutes going at a fluent speed. My ‘Maths Review Set 1’ allows students to recite information by repeating information either with the teacher or as an echo. This aids student learning and gives the teacher an opportunity to correct and repeat. Students are able to recall and answer questions or fill in gaps about maths topics/ areas that have been previously covered. It allows students to continually work on each skill daily or weekly, rather being expected to remember it without being exposed to it for some time. This is done to the level of automaticity, quickly being able to use this knowledge without pausing to recall it. It allows students to apply and demonstrate understanding by applying their knowledge independently. This is where you want to promote higher-order thinking processes so that the learning is embedded and remembered for longer. There are over 250 bright, engaging, animated slides included! It has hyperlinks taking you straight to the slides you wish to review too- so if you click patterns, it takes you straight to the matching slides rather than scrolling 250+ slides to find what you want! This is Set One and it focuses on the following, with clear 'I can' statements included for each section. Recognising numbers to 10 Counting small collections. 2D Shapes Patterns More/ Less/ Same Subitising Counting forwards and backwards Prepositions Formation of numbers to 10 Number Discrimination (3 and 8, 2, and 5, 1, and 7, 6 and 9) Number and shape fluency This resource must be opened in PowerPoint. It is animated so you will be required to open it in the Slide Show tab. Please do not edit the individual slides or the animations and formatting might alter. If this does happen… [truncated]
