Description
This Year 1 English Unit 3 Representation resource is packed with engaging, no prep differentiated exit ticket assessments designed to help Year 1 students meet NSW curriculum outcomes. It covers a variety of literacy skills including reading comprehension, vocabulary, oral language communication, and writing. Perfect for classroom use, this resource helps students follow extended instructions using connectives and conjunctions, respond to real and imagined worlds in texts, and explore how language and text forms vary based on purpose, audience, and mode. It encourages students to use action verbs to add detail to their writing, identify noun groups in informative texts, and write compound sentences, fostering both creativity and critical thinking in real-world contexts.
3 types of differentiated assessment:
- 3 Non-Verbal Thumbs Up/Down Questions: Quickly gauge whether students grasp the key concepts of the lesson. Great for young learners who may not yet be comfortable verbalising their understanding, allowing for a quick, visual check of comprehension.
- 2 Oral Think-Pair-Share Questions: Encourage students to think critically and articulate their understanding. This gives students a chance to process their ideas in a safe, supportive environment before sharing with the group. It helps develop oral communication skills and encourages peer learning.
- 1 Written Exit Ticket per lesson (Printable) Provides an opportunity for individual reflection and assessment. This accommodates students who may be more comfortable expressing their thoughts through writing or drawing, ensuring that all learning preferences are addressed.
