Description
Are you tired of rewriting the same parent messages asking for ways that they can help their child at home again and again?
I was too.
That’s why I created The Learning Lowdown.
I wanted a way to help families understand the why behind what we do in the classroom, without burning myself out on parent communication.
I wanted to share quality, evidence-based information that was clear, practical, and easy for families to digest (without the overwhelm).
The Learning Lowdown is a ready-to-use collection of short, parent-friendly tips, written by a classroom teacher, to support strong home–school alignment across the Early Years.
This 70-tip series focuses on key areas of early learning (including reading, spelling, writing, maths, problem solving, behaviour, resilience, independence, play, transitions, and oral language) using calm, clear language that reflects best practice and the Australian Curriculum.
Designed to be completely copy-and-paste ready, these tips help parents understand what learning looks like in the classroom and how they can support it at home, without pressure, worksheets, or mixed messages. Perfect for weekly newsletters, Seesaw / Compass / ClassDojo post, parent handouts, school social media, term overviews and information packs

How should I use this resource?
This resource is designed to be flexible! In my room, I like to share one my parents each week. I have a formula (shared in the guide) for what I share, but I like to substitute l them each week when things come up. If you're a principal, you might like to share it in a newsletter/social media.
