Phonics writing PowerPoint - Dictation sentences - Extended code

Lauren JCreated by LaurenCreated by Lauren

Overview

Description

Teach writing vowel digraphs and trigraph words and sentences to your kindergarten and grade 1 students using this decodable vowel digraph and trigraph writing PowerPoint. Includes 190 slides to teach digraph words in a sequence as you introduce new sounds. Including 76 words and 19 sentences.

I created this resource to support early writing in the classroom. When introducing a new phoneme (sound) it is important to apply and practice the new sound by reading and writing words with the new sound.

I use this PowerPoint as the 'we do' and 'you do' component of the phonics lesson. There is a slide for the teacher to model writing the word/ sentence and then a slide with the letters animated to pop up and sound out the word and then press again to scramble the letters for students to have a go and write the word on their whiteboard. This explicit process has helped my students become confident and independent early writers.
