Description

This game will consolidate place value from 100 to 999 with high levels of engagement that lead to learning.

It is based on the traditional WAR card game and I have adapted it to target place value at the HTO level. I start with a sequencing activity before I teach the game and include the WAR cards.

It starts with all cards being dealt to up to six players. If you have fewer players you may want to use fewer cards. The players do not look at their cards but stack them in front of them and play one card at a time. The player with the highest number collects all the cards. But - it's not that simple if a WAR card is played. There can be quite a stash when this happens. Play continues until one player has all the cards.
